IP Blocks

Static IPv4 or IPv6 addresses used to assign instance external IP addresses

IP blocks are used to provide pools of IPv4 or IPv6 IP addresses to instances. To create a block enter the IP information from the hosting provided. If the provider uses a VLAN ID for the public IP addresses that can be configured otherwise the VLAN option should be left empty. Any IP address in the range that is in use outside of Pritunl Cloud must be excluded to prevent that IP from being assigned to an instance. This includes any IP addresses used by the Pritunl Cloud nodes.

Once the block defintion has been created in the node settings configure the External IPv4 Block Attachments. This is done by selecting the interface that these IP addresses will bridge to. It should match the network interface that has an IP address in the block subnet. This can either be a bridge or non-bridge interface. For non-bridge interfaces a MacVLAN is used to connect the instance to that interface.

IPv6 Blocks

For IPv6 the subnet must be a static IPv6 /64 or larger that is routed to the nodes. When this is configured the instance ID will be used to derive a static IPv6 address on the subnet for that instance. The IPv6 gateway can be blank to use router advertisements for the gateway. If SLAAC or DHCPv6 is used for the IPv6 addresses a block should not be created and the node Network IPv6 Mode should be set to DHCP.
